Based
in Memphis, Deep Shag has become one of the most popular bands in
the Southeast, playing over 200 shows a year for the last four years. A
semi-finalist in a recent Grammy Showcase, they were recently picked
(out of 1200 entrants) for Disc Makers' "Heavy Hitters" compilation.
Now with their all-original CD "Mother May I," they are getting
bookings
and radio play from Key West to Alaska.
Deep
Shag has shared the stage with numerous national stars, including
Everclear, Maroon 5, Thornley and more. They've also performed at supporting dates for
the legendary Parliament Funkadelic, thanks to their friendship with
funk guru George Clinton, who is featured on two songs on "Rug Burn."
Deep
Shag blends elements of many influences to create a sound that's hard to classify,
fresh, yet somehow familiar. The common thread in all of the music is
vocalist Manda Marsh, who will command you with her powerful emotions
and aggressive vocal style.
Deep Shag consists of Manda Marsh on vocals, Robert Pickens on bass, Garrett Marshall on drums, and Robbie Davis on guitar.
